Coraline Book Review

I just finished reading the book Coraline. I really enjoyed the book, but it was obviously written for younger readers, and the lack of vocabulary sort of frustated me. The story was quite good, and though I wouldn't exactly call it a must-read, it was definetely worth reading. As for the scare-o-meter, though it is supposedly horror, I wouldn't really call it that. At least, not the obvious kind of horror that makes you shiver even in the full light of day, or keeps you up at night, wondering, even when you're not reading it, makes you reach for it because you have to know what happens, even though it will give you nightmares...or even to take it a step further makes you take the book out of the room because you know you'll read it otherwise...anyway, I'm getting off subject. What I've been trying to say is that it's not Stephen King scary but at night, you will silently wonder...because there seems to be a story underneath the story, no matter how old you are, that silently haunts you...

What I'm Reading: Cirque Du Freak

Today I started a book called Cirque Du Freak, after several people reccomended it to me. So far it's pretty good. It's not scary yet and I'm on page 78 of 266. It's a whole series, but I'm not sure of how many books there are. So, since I didn't finish it yet, here's what J.K. Rowling had to say about it: "COMPELLING....a plot full of twists which leaves the reader hungry for more."

Thirst NO.1 Review

Just finished reading this a few days ago....LOVED IT! Def a reccomendation to all vamp fans. Yes, it's YA, it's REALLY good. So get over it. Alisa was an amazing character, and I totally fell in love with Ray *blush* and, yes, Yaksha. I like bad vampires, sorry.

Summary:

Alisa has been in control of her urges for the five thousand years she has been a vampire. She feeds but does not kill, and she lives her life on the fringe to maintain her secret. But when her creator returns to hunt her, she must break her own rules in order to survive.

Her quest leads her to Ray. He is the only person who can help her; he also has every reason to fear her. Alisa must get closer to him to ensure her immortatlity. But as she begins to fall in love with Ray, suddenly there is more at stake than her own life.......
